MANSFIELD –The Mansfield City Parks Department has announced an exciting new partnership with the Mansfield Richland County Public Library to create an engaging outdoor StoryWalk in the picturesque lower area of South Park.
Public Works Director Louis Andres expressed his enthusiasm for the project.
“The closed roadway provides a beautiful and accessible setting for families to enjoy as they explore the reading stations along the StoryWalk path,” he said.
This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Mansfield City Parks Department to foster community connections through collaborative projects.

The StoryWalk will encourage literacy and a love of reading among children and provide a unique opportunity for families to enjoy the great outdoors together.
The Parks Department is committed to enhancing the community’s quality of life through innovative programs and partnerships.
Library Director Chris May said, “When the Parks Department approached the Library about this collaboration, it was an easy ‘yes.’ These StoryWalk partnerships align with the Library’s mission to offer engaging experiences for people of all ages, supporting a vibrant quality of life for the community in Richland County.”
The Library has two additional partnerships in the community for outdoor literacy experiences, the Storybook Trail at Kingwood Center Gardens and a second StoryWalk recently installed in downtown Mansfield.
