JACKSON TOWNSHIP — A Shelby man died in a one-vehicle crash on Monday night, according to the Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Louis D. Rittenberry, 57, was pronounced dead at Avita Ontario Hospital after the accident.

Near Stein Road, in Jackson Township, the vehicle went off the left side of the road and up an embankment. Troopers said the car then re-entered the road and traveled off the right side of the road and into a creek.

Rittenberry was transported to Avita Ontario Hospital by EMS, according to the patrol.

The patrol said the Shelby City Fire Department and Westside Towing assisted on the scene. The crash remains under investigation, troopers said.
