Regarding the Richland Source article, “Ohio to decide on proposed Citizens Redistricting Commission with Issue 1 vote,” I’m hopeful that Issue 1 is passed with a majority YES vote from Ohio residents.
Issue 1 is a bipartisan citizen commission that will have Democrats, Republicans, and Independents lending an equal voice to drawing new congressional maps.
Although, I am a lifelong Democrat, I support Issue 1 as it is the best way to be fair to all Ohio voters.
I would also ask Ohio voters to consider voting for an all Democratic ticket in this election season as so much is at stake in this election with our civil rights from: voting, LGBTQ+, minority, immigrant, and abortion rights.
It’s so important to advocate for these rights and for the environment, gun control, public schools, animal welfare, and housing and jobs for all.
