PLYMOUTH — A bevy of big plays pulled Plymouth out of a rut and helped the Big Red dominate New London 40-12 on Friday night.

Coach John Gillum’s squad snapped a six-game losing streak by following the lead of Eli Keefe.

The junior standout caught a 43-yard TD pass from Lincoln Distl and added a 68-yard touchdown run to lift the Big Red to a 14-0 first-quarter lead. Keefe added a 33-yard TD bolt in the second period to open a 26-6 bulge at the half.

Isaiah Miller broke off a 36-yard scoring run and Noah Montgomery’s 14-yard touchdown sprint in the second half.

Plymouth improves to 2-6 overall, 1-4 in the Firelands Conference. The Big Red host undefeated Monroeville next week.

New London drops to 2-6, 0-5. The Wildcats host Mapleton on Friday night.
