Richard “Hap” Vernon Hairston, age 81, of Shiloh, Ohio passed away on October 6, 2024, in result of a motor accident. He was born on July 12, 1943, in Shelby, Ohio to the late Charles Felton and Doris Virginia (Crowl) Hairston. Hap was very active, fun-loving, and loved by all his family and friends whom he was always willing to help. He was in the Army Reserves after graduating from Union High School, then soon pursued his passions for Corvettes, Harley Davidsons, fishing, golfing, and watching the Browns, Indians, and Buckeyes. He lived life to its fullest. He was a devoted son that cared for his mother long-term, then
brother and nephew. He enjoyed being outdoors walking and hiking, he kept an immaculate yard and assisted his brother and Betty with their yard, huge garden, and canning projects.

Hap is survived by his sister: Virginia Enzor, nieces, and nephews; Thomas Hutchinson, Cathy Hutchinson, Carl Schnittke, Jill (Mark) Brown, Jodie (Bill) Burdge, Jane (Nathan) Riggs, Wendy (Bruce) Baney, Amy Enzor (Adam Goon) and Carrie (Ed) Blum; along with numerous great nieces and nephews, and friends; Kenny, Boot, Rachel, and DeeAnn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Lynn, Dorthy (Bob) Hutchinson, William Hairston and Patricia (Jim/Jack) Fox/Holmes; nephews, Scott Hairston and Butch Hairston; niece Kay Schnittke.
