Rustic Daryl Baker, a longtime resident of Richland County, passed away at the hands of God at the age of 65.
He was born in Covington, Louisiana, to James L. and Margaret (Martens) Baker, on August 23rd, 1959. He attended The Ohio State University and Alderson Broaddus Baptist University in West Virginia.
Rustic, or Russ as he was known, was an avid photographer for many years. He enjoyed taking portraits of people and was very skilled in doing so. Photography was always a hobby, but it was still a big part of his life.
The only thing that outshined his love for photography was his love for guitars and music. Over the years, Russ had collected many guitars with some of his favorites being the PRS Guitars, Fender Stratocasters and Epiphone Guitars. He enjoyed playing guitar, especially lead guitar, and he always enjoyed showing off his collection for you.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Reverend James L. Baker, and his wife, Glenda Johnson Baker. He is survived by his Mother, Margaret (Martens) Baker of Mansfield, and his brothers Flint (Stephanie) Baker of Bokeelia, Florida, Chip (Sheri) Baker of Lucas, and Hunter Baker of Mansfield, and his daughter Candice McAfee of Mansfield. He is also survived by his niece Kelli, nephew Jerimiah, and great-nephew Brandon.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 4, 2024 from 12- 1 pm in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the service of celebration honoring the life of Rustic Daryl Baker will follow at 1 pm. His nephew, Brandon Polak will officiate.
Donations in memory of Russ may be made to the Richland County Humane Society.
