MANSFIELD — Kids playing at Optimist Park on Carol Lane will notice some updates to the equipment.

About eight Mansfield Noon Optimist Club members volunteered around 20 total hours on Sept. 14 to clean up the park.

“It’s the city’s park, but it has our name on it, so we wanted to make sure it looked nice,” said club president Dave Siebold. “The city provided the pea gravel for the swing set and the paint, and we did the rest.”

Siebold said club members worked from about 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday morning and had earlier discussions on getting the rehabilitation organized.

Optimist Park is an outdoor playground located on Carol Lane on the city’s southeast side.

The Noon Optimist Club is a service organization that works to better the lives of youth in the Mansfield community.
