MANSFIELD — The Richland County Sheriff’s Office has announced the promotion of Officer Chaz Hester from Correctional FTO Officer to Correctional Sergeant.
Hester was hired as a Correctional Officer in 2021. He will be assigned to supervisor training on 2nd shift and then assigned to 2nd shift upon the completion of his training, Sheriff Steve Sheldon said.
“The Richland County Sheriff’s Office congratulates Sgt. Hester and we look forward in continuing to carry out our mission in serving the residents of Richland County,” Sheldon said.
Hester graduated from the State Corrections Academy in 2022 and started serving as a Field Training Officer shortly thereafter.
During his time at the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Hester received the coveted Officer of the Year Award for CY 2023 and several Certificate of Appreciation Awards.
Hester graduated from Clear Fork High School in 2013 and then served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp. for more than seven years before starting his service at the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.
