Edna Corinne Motson, affectionately known as “Cookie”, 95, passed away at her home on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
Edna was born November 9, 1928 in Ashley, Ohio where she grew up. She was one of three children to Glen F. and Grace Whipple Randolph. She graduated from Ashley High School in 1946 where she was captain and pitcher of the softball team. She married Chuck on November 19, 1950, and the two built a beautiful life together. She cherished holiday parties with her family and always had an abundance of homemade candy at Christmas that she loved making to share. She loved working in the yard, gardening, playing cards; especially rummy, and the challenge of a jigsaw puzzle.
She is survived by her children, Mark Motson, Julie (Kevin) Maxwell, and Jodi Palacios; her grandchildren, Jayda Motson-Soto (Miguel) and Rico Palacios; her niece, Maxanne Lea; her nephew, Leslie Randolph; and her cousin, Maryann Castagna. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Motson; her brother, Max Randolph; and her sister, Shirley Edington.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Ashley Union Cemetery, 9800 Ashley Rd, Ashley, OH 43003. Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the Motson family.
