WILLARD — Willard quarterback Jacob Rothhaar threw for three touchdowns and the Flashes toppled Plymouth  24-21 in a tough tilt on Friday night.

Rothhaar was 18-of-25 for 292 yards and scoring tosses to three different receivers. His 24-yard TD pass to Paxton Flores with 7:53 remaining in the game was the final score in a see-saw affair.

The Big Red got it done on the ground with 234 rushing yards, but hit just 1-of-7 passes for 7 yards. Ethan Keefe collected 119 yards on 18 carries, while Owen Wright added 99 yards on 18 attempts. Keefe, Wright and Lincoln Distl each had a touchdown run for Plymouth.

The start wasn’t the problem for the Big Red, who edged on top 7-6 through the end of the first quarter and maintained a 14-12 margin at halftime.

The Crimson Flashes took the lead with the only score of the third period with an 18-14 advantage heading to the final period.

The two squads swapped scores in the fourth quarter, with Willard coming out on top.
