CRESTLINE —A new school year is filled with new opportunities and buzzing excitement. A new school year began on Aug. 19 at Crestline Exempted Village School District.

Students, staff, and faculty have all been awaiting the 2024-2025 school year and are now excited to get back into the academic endeavors of the school year.

This year, the elementary, middle, and high schools are focused on welcoming new faces, embracing the community, and ensuring that this year is the best one yet.

The elementary school principal, Austin Gearheart, commented that the school welcomed the new school year with “new staff and new students.”

Although the elementary school has plenty of new faces to welcome, they are excited to grow and see where this exciting year will take them.

“We are excited to work together to level up!” Gearheart said.

Each year brings about a wave of new experiences for students and staff alike. At the elementary school, they are all about embracing these experiences and are looking forward to seeing what is in store.

The middle school was just as eager to welcome students to its hallways. According to the principal, Carolyn Labay, there was plenty of fun to be had on the first day of school.

“We enjoyed several activities, an art project, locker races, and building tours were some of the highlights of the day.”

Excitement abounds at Crestline Middle School, and it was a welcome way to kickstart the year.

At the high school, principal Jason Knight commented, “It was great having the kids back in the halls and seeing the staff interact with them.”

He believes that connections are important for high school students and staff. The way that students and staff all build that community is an inspiring sight.

“The beginning of the year, in some ways, resembles a family reunion, and it’s amazing to see the connections student to student, student to staff, and staff to staff. This is our amazing Bulldog Family, and we are proud of it!”
