NORTH ROBINSON — The Colonel Crawford defense was absolutely suffocating, and the offense held up its end, too, in a 48-0 beating of Richmond Heights on Thursday night in North Robinson.

The Eagles defense threw the Spartans back for a total of minus-31 yards in total offense. Richmond Heights tried 19 runs, resulting in minus-52 yards. The Spartans were 2-of-9 passing for 31 yards.

Meanwhile, C.C. jumped to a 35-0 first-quarter lead and a 48-0 halftime bulge.

Connor McMichael broke loose for a 60-yard TD run to open the floodgates, and it was all Colonel Crawford needed.

Roen Thew tacked on touchdown dashes from 5 and 7 yards, Peyton Baker tossed a 43-yard scoring pass to Lucas Foy, and Brayden Holt plunged in from a yard away to complete a dizzying first-quarter spree.

Baker and Foy connected again for a 21-yard touchdown pass, and Dominic Dean added a 1-yard TD blast to compete the scoring.

Colonel Crawford (2-0) will travel to East Knox next week.

Richmond Heights (0-2) has a bye before returning to action against Ashtabula St. John’s.
