Willa Dean Rachel, 81, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and the love of her life, Melvin C. Rachel, on August 26, 2024.
Willa was born in Wayland, Kentucky, to Clenon and Bessie (Slone) Beverly. In 1975, she married Melvin and enjoyed 30 years of marriage before his passing. Together they enjoyed traveling, motorcycles, classic cars, and made the perfect dance partners. Willa enjoyed listening to country music, hanging with friends, bowling, and enjoyed a good game of Euchre. Willa worked as a realtor for Aaron Davis and Sluss Realty for 23 years.
Willa is survived by seven children, Lindy (Lisa) Rachel, Scott (Amy) Rachel, Jeff (Laura) Cochran, Todd (Theresa) Cochran, Kent (Amy) Rachel, Theresa (Chris) Buchanan, and Beverly (Luke) Thomas; twenty grandchildren, Christopher (Meggen) Cochran, Danielle Cochran, Cody Cochran, Kayla (David) Passet, Shannon (Mike) Hill, Brook (Mathew) Scheffler, Shawn, Daniel, Taylor, Preston, Kamdyn, Brianna, Darnell, Kayden, Cruz and Miracle Rachel, Brandon Buchanan, Tyler (Maggie) Thomas, Morgan and Brooklyn Thomas; ten great-grandchildren; and eight siblings, Lon Beverly, Vanda Haymond, Lois Ball, Carl Beverly, Dick Beverly, Jim Beverly, Phyllis Fidler and Phillip Beverly.
Along with her husband, Melvin, and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Landis and Donnie Beverly; sister, Naviona Jordan; granddaughter, Nicole Rachel; and great-grandson, Conner Dennison.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SouthernCare Hospice.
