Donald L Moorman Jr. age 92, resident of Mansfield, passed away peacefully at the Ontario Estates surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 15, 1932, in Hayesville, Ohio to Donald and Autha (Laser) Moorman Sr., he had been a resident of Hayesville until moving to Shelby in his teen years. A 1950 graduate of Shelby High School, Donald worked for Shelby Cycle for 2 years prior to joining the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany for two years during the Korean War. He had married the love of his life, Martha Jane Steele, July 3, 1955, and the couple then moved to Shiloh, where they resided for over 50 years.

Following his time in the service, Donald worked for AMF for 17 years and later worked for Tappan until his retirement in 1995. Donald was an avid golfer at Woody Ridge and was a member of the Church of Christ. Donald was also a 32-degree Mason and member of the Masonic Lodge and the American Legion of Shiloh. Additionally, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was riding up until he was 86 years old.

He is survived by his three children, Jean Ann West of Crestline, Clarence Moorman of Columbus and Suzon, K. (Jeff) Kreinbrink of Shelby; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Martha (Steele) Moorman; sister Mary (Harry) Nixon and brother Dean (Marie) Moorman.

Friends may visit at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 10:00am at the funeral home. Pastor Scott Dunn will officiate with interment held in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
