MADISON TOWNSHIP — Madison Township has hired Larry Weirich as its new Road Superintendent, according to a Tuesday morning press release from the Board of Trustees.

Weirich will begin his job on Sept. 7. He was previously the village administrator in Bellville.

“With Madison Township’s 70 miles of road, Mr. Weirich brings extensive road experience for the future of Madison Township,” the Board of Trustees stated.

In other business at Monday night’s meeting, the board:

  1. Awarded sites Rd and Marianna Dr. Pavement Improvement Project to Albatross, LLC for $214,963.25.
  2. Approved change order to 2024 Paving Contract from Sarver Paving for Brace Avenue in amount of $23,391.
  3. Approved the sale of a Fire Dept. 2015 Chevrolet Ambulance to the City of Shelby for $35,000.
  4. Approved a resolution for recertifying Troy Drive Lighting District for tax years 2024 – 2026.
  5. Approved an Investment Policy for Madison Township.
