Mary Lou Bishop, 85, of Mansfield, Ohio left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ , August 17, 2024. Born to Peter W. and Mary (Lelle) Bishop, September 15, 1938, Mary Lou was a life-long member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, graduating from St. Peter’s in 1956. In 1957 she entered Marymount Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, where she earned her LPN. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph 3rd Order of St. Francis as, Sister Mary Peter Damien, where she served her Lord for eleven years. Upon returning home from the convent, she continued her work as an LPN; often working in Private Duty with her best friend and mother, Mary. Mary Lou dedicated 58 years in service to nursing until her retirement. In earlier years she and her mom loved to travel in an RV, towing a dune-buggy on many carefree trips.
Mary Lou was an avid animal lover, rescuing cats any chance she had. She is survived by her nieces, Debbie Hirtz and Sue Bishop, who were her loving and dedicated caregivers, niece Kathy Dorantes of Merced, Ca., nephews Ken Myers of Mansfield, Ohio, Mike Myers of Irvine, Ca., and nephews Tom, Greg, Geoff, Joe and Rick Bishop; also many great nieces and nephews, and numerous life-long friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Carol Myers, niece Sharon Myers, brother Art Bishop, and nephew Tim Bishop.
