Donna Jean Patrick, age 76, passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.
Donna was born May 12, 1948, in Shelby, Ohio to the late Louis and Opal E. (Foster) Pena, she had been an area resident the majority of her life.
Donna was a member of the Shelby FOE #763 and regularly attended services at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She was a lover of animals, and enjoyed spending time with and cuddling up to her dogs. Known for having a green thumb, she loved tending to her flower gardens. When Donna was not spending time with her friends or family, she was always talking on the phone with them; although, everyone knew that she was not to bothered with phone calls while the Young & the Restless, or Judge Judy were on TV.
She is survived by her daughter Margie Guthrie; two grandchildren Matthew Rank and Morgan (Mike) Hockenberry; four great grandchildren, Ansley, Landyn, Remi and Easton; two siblings, Robert Pena and Shirley Brooks, all of Shelby; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her eight siblings, Charles, Lucille, Harold, Bill, Virginia, Pete, Mike, Raymond; and a special friend Janet “JD” Dill.
Friends may visit at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby, Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM. Pastor James Robinson will officiate with interment held at Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory to offset funeral expenses.
