Reginald (Reggie) Wayne Sturts, 71 of Mansfield, Ohio died Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Ohio Health Mansfield after an accident. Surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Reggie was born September 23, 1952 in Mansfield, Ohio. A 1972 graduate of Madison High School. He married Laurie Hershey in 1976. Reggie worked at Joyce Buick and the Ohio Brass before starting Reggie Sturts Trenching and Excavating in 1978 and retired in 2000. In 1997 Reggie built and started R&L Banquet Center, retiring in 2017. Reggie was a real estate guru, building his first house at the age of 20 and grew his rental business over the years extending his real estate ventures to Colorado and Florida.
Reggie loved to ski and golf. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandkids. Reggie loved to teach his grandkids all he could and enjoyed watching all their sporting events. Reggie had a love for cars, always enjoying different cars over the years. His most recent, a 2021 stingray corvette that he loved to take all his grandkids to car shows in, especially his beloved grandson Payton.
If you knew Reggie, you knew he was a jokester and had a sense of humor like no other. He truly was one of a kind.
Reggie will be deeply missed and is survived by his wife of 48 years Laurie Sturts, son Jeremy (Monica) Sturts of Mansfield, daughter Sarah (Joe) King of Mansfield. His precious grandkids Chloe Sturts and Parker King. Step grandkids Jordan(Kami) King, Jessa King and Joey King. Brothers Mike (Lori) Sturts, David (JoAnn) Sturts and Randy Sturts. As well as numerous nieces and nephews, lifelong friends and childhood best friend Phil and his wife Terry Perry.
Reggie is preceded in death by his best friend and beloved grandson Payton Sturts. His parents Wayne and Dwan Sturts.
There will be a celebration of life Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 1:00pm at 781 5th Avenue Mansfield, Ohio.
