Bellville: Barry R. Shutt of Bellville, Ohio passed away on August 5, 2024 at OhioHealth Mansfield. He was 82.
He was born on March 28, 1942 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Olen and Leeta (Walters) Shutt. On April 4, 1981 at St. John United Church of Christ he married the love of his life, Nancy Monninger. The couple shared 43 wonderful years together.
In his adult years Barry worked for Columbia Gas as a leak inspector for 30 years until his retirement in 1999. He also ran his own music business, Stereo Barry & Company, performing locally and at weddings for many years.
In his spare time he enjoyed traveling and camping, and after retiring Nancy and Barry spent time traveling across the country and camping. He was a talented woodworker, most notably his “Barryland” Christmas display that he built. Every winter Barry would light up his display, play seasonal music, and dress up as Santa Claus to pass out candy canes to the many visitors who came to admire his work. Above all else though, he loved his family- including his three beloved dogs Sassy, Sugar, and Ginger. Spending time with his family, or playing with his dogs, always brought a smile to Barry’s face.
He is survived by his loving wife Nancy Shutt, children Rusty L. (Nylene) Shutt, Scott P. (Laura) Shutt, Belynda (Randy) Sauder, and Bryon Shutt, grandchildren Rusty R. (Valerie) Shutt, Jade M. (Cassie) Shutt, Seth T. Shutt, Esmeralda Shutt, Brandon (Marilyn) Sauder, Drew (Kayla) Sauder, Samantha Sauder, Jeremy (Erica) Rosborough, and Ashley Shutt, great-grandchildren Lukas, Leia, Imily, Ruby, Paisley, Colt, Cassie, Allie, Macie, Tallulah, Kai, Arianna, and Demoni, sister Diana (Loyal) Young, sister-in-law Kathleen Shutt, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Barry is preceded in death by his daughter Bonita Shutt, twin brother Larry Shutt, and sister Sharon Seamens.
The family will be celebrating Barry’s life privately at this time.
