Leslie A. (Wallace) Porter, 74, passed away July 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, in Mansfield, Ohio. She was born in Dayton, Ohio to Francis and Betty Wallace who preceded her in death.
A graduate of Lexington High School, she attended Ohio State University and graduated from Walden University with a master’s degree in early childhood education. Leslie’s compassion for people and her passion for working with children led her to a lifelong career with Head Start programs all over the United States. The joy she felt in the outdoors and her love and dedication for working on the reservations with different tribal communities kept her in Oklahoma for 25 years. She retired from ICF International, where she worked as a Grantee Specialist.
Leslie is survived by her twin sons Barry (Danielle) Porter and Erik Porter both of Mansfield, sister Kyle (Neal) Hensley of Waterville, brothers Mark (Valerie) Wallace of Mansfield, and Brad (Eileen) Wallace of Lakewood; her grandchildren Ian Scarborough, Gabe (Kayla) Porter, Jack Porter, Olivia Porter, and Chloe Porter; her many cherished nieces and nephews; and her brother-in-law Dave Pifer of Cape Coral, Florida. Along with her loving parents, she was preceded in death by her big sister Jamee Pifer.
Leslie enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, game nights, and discussing current events. Her infectious smile, selfless heart, and compassion for people and animals alike will be missed tremendously by all who knew her.

Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on August 16, 2024 at Oak Grove Memorial Park – Lexington, 4108 US-42 S. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice at 2291 W. 4th Street, Suite G, Ontario, Ohio 44906.
