ONTARIO: Deva “Dave” F. Fuller passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was 88.
He was born on November 1, 1935 to parents Deva W. and Ruth N. (Stemen) Fuller in Lima, Ohio. After Dave was graduated from high school, he proudly went on to serve his country for 25 years in the United States Navy.
On September 9, 1989, he married the love of his life, Sandra Stickelman, and they shared 34 wonderful years of marriage together.
Dave taught Electrical Studies at Upper Valley JVS in Piqua, Ohio where he worked for 23 years until his retirement. He also spent some time teaching at the Corning Glassworks in Greenville, Ohio. Throughout his teaching career he was a mentor to many students and his personal recommendation was highly sought after by all his students.
In his spare time, he took pleasure in golfing, cheering on the Atlanta Braves, reading a good book, swimming at the YMCAs in both the Oregon and Greenville areas. As a veteran he was also a longtime member of the VFW and the American Legion. But above all, Dave cherished his family and all the memories they shared.
He is survived by his loving wife Sandra (Stickelman) Fuller, children Tim (Stephanie) Fuller, Steve Fuller, Debbie (Michael) Wullenweber, and Donna (John) Legott, stepchildren Charles (Susan Clark) Stickelman and Terri (Steve) Stibaner, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Dave is preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Fuller, grandson Brandon Ganger, and all his siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday August 7, 2024 at 2:15 pm in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. For those wishing to attend please arrive and be in line no later than 2 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately after at 3 pm at the American Legion Post #170, 125 Main St., Wadsworth, Ohio 44281.
