LUCAS: Bonnie Sue Herman passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 29, 2024. She was 90.
She was born on August 13, 1933 in Ashland, Ohio to parents Harry and Leona (Boley) Carlisle. As a hardworking and independent woman, Bonnie worked at Thermodisc for several years before transitioning to work as a clerk at the Richland County Public Library Lucas Branch until her retirement in 2008. Though she worked into her 70s, Bonnie never missed a day of work and took pride in everything she did.
On October 25, 1953 she married the love of her life Stuart “Stu” Herman. The couple shared 52 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2005, now they are together again.
In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo and girls trips to her favorite casinos with her daughters. Bonnie was an avid reader, loved puzzles, and was incredibly artsy. She had a soft spot for her cats, Mars and Sadie, and always loved a good cuddle session with them. Above all else though, Bonnie loved her family- the countless memories made together with her ever growing family were cherished by her dearly.
Bonnie is survived by her children Judith (Ronald) Armstrong, Douglas (Connie) Herman, Dena Herman, and Lisa (Joseph Stacy) Troupe, grandchildren Tyler Adkins, Jacob Adkins, Stuart (Brooke) Herman, Richard (Julie) Maffett, Mitchell Maffett, Shannon (Adam) Gongwer, Jennifer Cottrell, Alec Troupe, and Kennedy (Brian) Musgrave, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and sisters Joyce Wallen and Charlotte Mullins.
In addition to her loving husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and 10 of her siblings.
A small graveside service will be announced in the coming days, please check back for further announcements.
