Shirley Ann Evans, age 89, passed away June 27, 2024, at her home in Shelby surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 6, 1934, in Shelby, Ohio to Roy and Lola (Forman) Kidwell, she had been a life-long resident. Shirley was a hostess at Mcdonalds for over 10 years, where she enjoyed visiting with the customers and bringing them coffee. A devout Christian, she was a member of the LifePoint Church in Plymouth. Shirley enjoyed traveling all over the world. These trips included multiple countries, such as Holland, Switzerland, Austria, France, Germany, Liechtenstein, and Mexico. In recent years, that included traveling the United States to visit, travel with, and support her family in their various endeavors. While visiting she always made sure she took the time to eat at any local famous restaurant, and see the sights, particularly in nature. Besides her love for good food, she also enjoyed her coffee, especially a latte. When she wasn’t bowling or walking around the reservoir, she was raising her five children, which she cherished more than anything.

Shirley is survived by her four children; Bill (Diane) Evans of Baxter, TN, Lynn Lakey of Wheeling, WV, Tim Evans of Little Rock, AK, Kelly (Tim) Hosey of Colorado Springs, CO; six grandchildren, Dustin Mott, Max McClellan, Ashley Young, Eli McClellan, Sydney (Kole) Runyan, Dr. Olivia (Cody) Brem and Evan Hosey; five great grandchildren, Allison Cummins, Layne Dunlap, Natale Young, Aniello Young, Christian Mott; three siblings, Beverly Garn, Dennis (Regina) Kidwell, Debbie (Jeff) Calame; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a longtime companion Cloyd Irey of Shelby.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, George Evans in 1999, son David Evans in 1991; brother Lyle Kidwell and granddaughter Mary Hannah Hosey.
