Henry Richard Benjamin Sr., 93, of Mansfield, passed away at OhioHealth Shelby on Monday, June 24, 2024.
Henry was born on July 27, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he grew up, later moving to Mansfield. He was the son of Nancy Benjamin. He retired after 30 years of employment from General Motors. Camping in his RV was always a memorable experience for Henry. He enjoyed cooking and BBQ was one of his favorites. A loving father and grandfather, Henry found time with his family was where he enjoyed making memories most. In his spare time he took pleasure in bowling, bingo and fishing.
Henry leaves behind his children, Henry R. (Minnie L.) Benjamin Jr., Charles E. Benjamin, James R. (Clyone) Benjamin, Cynthia D. Kilgore, Shelia R. Benjamin, and Darrick S. (Pat Lewis) Benjamin; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many cherished family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; his wife of 49 years, Laura (Lewis) Benjamin; his children, Rodney A. Benjamin Sr., Sondra L. Benjamin, and Clifford Wilson; and grandsons, Shawntorio D. Kilgore and Charles D. Matthews..
Family and friends may visit from 9:00-10:45 am on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 am at Mansfield Cemetery.
