Robert Lee Stehle, Sr., 94 years old, of Mount Vernon, passed away on June 10, 2024 at Danbury Senior Living, Mount Vernon, Ohio. He was born in Mansfield, Ohio, on February 17, 1930 to the late Julia (Eve) and Phillip Stehle.
He lived in the area for his entire life where he worked as a tool and die maker at General Motors. Robert honorably served his country in the Army and enjoyed sixty-nine years of marriage to Phyllis until her passing in 2020. He attended the Church of Christ in Lexington and kept active by restoring antique furniture and clocks.
Robert enjoyed spending time with his family and is survived by his son, Robert (Desra) Stehle, Jr.; his daughter, Deborah Clevenger; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Phyllis (Gaul) Stehle; a grandson; a great granddaughter; one sister; four brothers; and parents-in-law, Chuck and Leora Gaul.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Wappner Funeral Directors – Ontario, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Rd. He will be laid to rest at a later time in Mansfield Memorial Park.
