MANSFIELD — The City of Mansfield is hosting “Operation S.O.S.” on June 22 as part of its stream outreach program. The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., will take place at North Lake Park.

The cleanup effort, which runs through Middle Park and ends at South Park, is part of the city’s initiatives to reduce litter, debris, and illegal dumping in storm drains, which can cause flooding and impact water quality.

Volunteers will be given durable work gloves, waterproof boots, and insect repellent and entered into a drawing to win prizes as part of the 27th anniversary Earth Stewardship celebration.

All volunteers are required to register in advance by calling 419-755-9702 or emailing Kim Hildreth, project planner at khyildreth@ci.mansfield.oh.us.

Additional information is available on the Mansfield Storm Water Management Facebook page.
