Hazel Fay (Elliott) Brinegar, age 60, born on January 8, 1964, in Mansfield, Ohio peacefully passed away on May 29, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. She was the youngest child of Ovellon and Hazel (Justice) Elliott.

Fay, as she was affectionately known, touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. She was a loving mother to her sons Jesse and Jagger Elliott, and a cherished grandmother to her beloved granddaughter Cheyenne Elliott.

In her professional life, Fay worked in the manufacturing industry, including Automatic Parts, Inc., Blevins Manufacturing, and Ohio Valley Stamping Assemblies. She also spent time working at the family grocery store, Elliott’s Carryout, in her earlier years. Fay made friends wherever she went and many of these friendships have lasted decades.

Fay’s caring nature extended beyond her work life. She selflessly cared for several sick family members including her brother, father, and mother in their time of need, showing immense compassion and empathy. She found peace in tending to her flowers, especially enjoying carnations. Fay found a love for cruise ships in her later years. Fay’s greatest joy was taking Cheyenne on her first Caribbean cruise, creating lasting memories for her granddaughter.

In her leisure time, Fay enjoyed annual trips to Kentucky to visit her brother and extended family. She found relaxation in watching Hallmark movies and keeping up with the latest episodes of General Hospital. Fay also enjoyed collecting Willow Tree figurines. Fay’s presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.

Fay was preceded in death by her parents, Ovellon and Hazel (Justice) Elliott, her husband Ora M. Brinegar Jr., her brother Arlin J. Elliott, her sister Linda K. Johnston and sister-in-law Patricia Elliott, as well as her loyal four-legged companion, Chaz. She is survived by her sons, Jesse and Jagger Elliott, granddaughter Cheyenne Elliott, brothers Lowell Gene (Jewell) Elliott and Glen C. Elliott, special friends Lisa Bassin and Cheryl Ferguson and her faithful canine companion, Lily.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 12pm-1pm at the Ohio Cremation and Memorial Society in Ontario, Ohio. A memorial service will be held to honor Fay’s life and legacy immediately after and will be officiated by Fay’s nephew Pastor Lowell Elliott. Private burial at Mansfield Cemetery will occur at a later date. Fay will be deeply missed and remembered by her family and friends. May she rest in peace and know that she is in no more pain.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for the care and comfort provided in Fay’s last days.
