Robert “Bob” F. Shook, 75, of Mansfield passed away May 23, 2024 at Kingston of Ashland.
Bob was born November 19, 1948 in Mansfield. He was a 1966 graduate of St. Peter’s High School and a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Bob was a community servant starting with serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart. He later became a police officer retiring after 30 plus years as a Detective Sergeant. Bob was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and a proud elected committee member of the Republican Party. He enjoyed golfing with his friends, but truly loved the time he spent with his granddaughter.
Survivors include his daughter Amanda Kit Shook of Columbus; granddaughter Charity Ann Tuttle; brothers Jim Shook, David (Linda) Shook; sister Kay (Duane) Rader; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lucille Woodward Shook; his wife of 40 years Mary Ann Shook; and a sister Linda Lashley.
Visitation will take place Friday from 4-7pm at Herlihy Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 60 S. Mulberry Street. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park with military honors presented by the Richland County Joint Veteran’s Burial Detail.
