MANSFIELD — Richland County residents have the chance to shape the county’s transportation projects across the next 25 years.

The Richland County Regional Planning Commission and the consulting group American Structurepoint Inc have announced public meetings for residents to share their thoughts.

The Long-Range Transportation Plan will guide auto, bicycle, bus and pedestrian projects and funding through 2050.

As part of the planning process, RCRPC Metropolitan Planning Organization launched an online survey to seek the public’s input on transportation improvement locations, safety needs and priorities for investing the MPO’s resources in future transportation improvement needs across the county.

The survey asks questions including what traffic management strategies are most important, where budget priorities should be, what areas need attention in different priorities and how survey-takers rate their current accessibility of transportation.

Planning commission staff said the survey should take around 5 minutes and the results will help determine priorities, strategies and safety needs for the next 25 years.

Surveys will be open through July 1. The public meetings and the focuses of each are listed below.
