MANSFIELD: Marilyn R. Martin, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2024 while surrounded by her family. She was 86.
She was born on July 30, 1937 to parents Raymond and Evelyn (Gabet) Sheer in Berea, Ohio. On January 18, 1958, she married William Allen Martin, and they shared 33 wonderful years of marriage until he passed away in 1991. Now they are together again.
Marilyn retired from Hi-Stat Manufacturing in Lexington, Ohio.
Being a woman of faith, she was an active member at Storyside Church in Bellville, Ohio. In her spare time Marilyn took pleasure in roller skating, coaching little league baseball, bowling, knitting hats for the homeless, and attending the annual Winter Jam Christian Concerts. But above all else, she cherished her family, never missing an opportunity to surround herself with those she loved most.
Marilyn is survived by her sons Allen (Andrea) Martin and Robert (Nancy) Martin, step-daughter Cheryl (William) Zehner, grandchildren Nichole (James) Myers, Nathan (Morgan) Martin, Brianna (Andrew) Heath, Randi Ernsberger, and Megan Martin, 12 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous beloved extended family members and friends.
In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Christopher Martin.
A private family service will be held to celebrate Marilyn’s life.
