MANSFIELD — As part of Mansfield’s celebration of Arbor Day 2024, the Shade Tree Commission will visit Malabar Intermediate School and distribute tree seedlings to students.
On Tuesday, May 14, the Shade Tree Commission and Mayor Jodie Perry will visit the school to read to students about the history of Arbor Day and the importance of trees in an urban setting.
The seedlings were generously donated by the Richland Soil & Water Conservation District to be distributed to students.
The Shade Tree Commission works with local schools to provide educational activities for students as part of the annual Arbor Day celebration.
This year’s event will focus on volunteerism and the benefits of urban forestry in the community.
