Edwin (Bud) Moffett, age 83, of Galion Ohio passed away on May 1, 2024 at Altercare Nursing Home in Bucyrus Ohio following a three-year health battle. On February 26, 1941 he was born in Mansfield Ohio to the late Clifford and Margaret Moffett. On May 13, 1971 married Donna L (Carpenter) Moffett in Crestline, Ohio and together they shared almost 53 years of marriage. Bud graduated from Lucas High School in 1959, where he loved participating on the basketball team. Edwin started his long work career at the Moffett family farm as a young boy. He later worked at Lomax grocery store in Lucas, Ohio. He joined the Army and later joined the Army Reserves. He was a police officer for the Crestline Police Department and later the Galion Police Department. He retired from A.M. Castle Metals in Galion/Bedford Ohio. Later in life, he discovered acting and was in several movies, including his most recent film, “Axe Giant, The Wrath of Paul Bunyan” and “Escape from Death Block 13”. He loved bragging about his movies and he never met a stranger. Edwin also enjoyed going to flea markets, garage sales and collecting treasures. He also enjoyed listening and singing to his eight tract tape collection.

Edwin is survived by his loving wife, Donna Moffett; daughter Shawn (Joe) Borders of Galion, daughter Lisa (Steve) Gibbons of Crestline; four grandchildren, Heather Borders, Tyler Borders, Macy (Davis) Collins and Hunter Gibbons.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Theodore Moffett.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Altercare Nursing Home for the loving care that he received.

Per Bud’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. Since Bud was very proud of his hometown, Lucas, Ohio Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Monroe Township Firefighter Association in care of 43 S. Union St., Lucas, OH 44843.

His grandson Hunter wanted to end his obituary with gramps’ favorite quote. “Ya’ll come back now, ya hear.”
