Lexington: Helen Elizabeth Reffel Marion, age 93, passed away peacefully May 2, 2024.

She was born November 28, 1930 in Mansfield to the late Fred Paul and Ida Ernestine (Freb) Rueckert and graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1948.

A lifelong Richland County resident, Helen worked 24 years in the office at Therm-O-Disc as an administrative assistant, retiring in the mid 80’s. She attended First Assembly of God and enjoyed traveling, sewing and was very proud of her family.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Allan (Rochelle) Reffel in Bellville, daughter Shawnee Reffel of Lexington, grandchildren U.S. Navy Chaplain Jennifer Howe (Phillip), Matt (Sarah) Reffel of Mansfield, and Breanna (Brett) Collins of Mansfield; four great grandchildren Maverick, Soren, Bristol and Blake; along with nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas Marion, and siblings Walter Rueckert and Doris Probst.

The family would like to extend gratitude to the staff at Wedgewood Estates and Hospice of North Central Ohio for the genuine care they gave Helen.

A private graveside service will be held in Mansfield Memorial Park. Helen’s granddaughter U.S. Navy Chaplain Jennifer Howe will speak.
