Gisele Louise Sgambellone entered eternal life with our Lord and Savior on April 29, 2024 at the age of 96. Gisele was born in Schifflange, Luxembourg on November 30, 1927. In 1947 she came over to the United States where she later became a U.S. citizen. She worked for St. Peters Elementary as a secretary for many years. She was a fierce and honest woman loved by many.

She married Anthony Sgambellone and together they raised four children. John (Rhonda) Sgambellone, Gary (Carol) Sgambellone, James (Linda) Sgambellone and Nancy Sgambellone. Her family blossomed into having 13 Grandchildren, 32 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. She loved to give out candy to all the Grandchildren and became known as Grandma “Tootsie Pop” or Grandma “L” because the little ones could not pronounce her name.

Gisele loved to play bingo, enjoyed playing cards, eating at her favorite Chinese restaurant (several times a week) and watching game shows and sports. She knitted many baby outfits, made numerous pizzelles and Italian cookies that were shared with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Anthony, parents Jean Pierre and Marie Antoinette, Sisters Monique and Elisabeth, Sons Gary and James and Grandchild Shannon.

A Funeral mass will be held Tuesday May 7, 2024 at St. Peter’s Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
