E. Louise Rhoads, 102, resident of Wedgewood Estates passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024. She was born on January 23, 1922 to Charles S. Aungst and Myrtle Dille Aungst in Mansfield, Ohio. She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School, Class of 1940. During WWII, she worked as a stenographer in various offices, retiring from Tappen Stove Company. She did volunteer work for many years. Louise was married to William Arthur Rhoads for 42 years before he passed away in 1997. They were the parents of one daughter, Stephanie D. Rhoads.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter; her sister, Elizabeth Kanz; brother, Robert Aungst; nieces, Sherry Hoffman and Sandi Stricker; and five furry friends. She is survived by nephews, Gayle E. (Sue) Kanz Sr. and Gary L. (Diane) Kanz; nieces, Suzanne (Craig) Ingalls and Brenda (Nick) Sindrick; great-nephews, Gayle E. (Christy) Kanz Jr. and Doug Stricker Jr.; great-nieces, Kim (Greg) Colangeo and Judy (Walt) Klass; good friends, Linda Applegate, whose help made it possible for Louise to stay in her home for many years and Karen and Chuck Hardy.
A graveside service will be held at Mansfield Cemetery on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 1:00 pm officiated by Pastor Brad Gentille. Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the Rhoads family.
