Geneva Bates, 71, passed away at her home on Saturday, April 27, 2024. She was born on October 15, 1952 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to James L. and Melba Risner.
Geneva enjoyed spending her time doing crossword puzzles, reading, and listening to music from the 70’s. Watching Sci Fi and Alfred Hitchcock were her favorites TV shows. Geneva loved going to lunch with her friends and spending time with her family who she was very devoted to, especially her husband who was the love her life. She was a member of the Galion Freewill Baptist Church.
Geneva is survived by her son, William Greg (Angie) Bates; daughter, Jennifer (Chris) Livengood; two brothers, Curtis (Sandy) Risner and Gary Risner; two sisters, Betty (Gary) Olmstead and Kim (Adrian) Goble; her grandchildren, Liam Bates and Kaitlynn Bates; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Willie Bates Jr.; two sisters, Sharon Damron and Karen Howard; and a brother, James Risner.
There will be no services held.
