Bradley E. Young, age 72 of Ashland, Ohio passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 following a brief period of declining health.

Bradley was born on June 2, 1951 in New London, Ohio, the first of three children of Albert and Bernice (nee Baker) Young. He graduated from Mapleton High School with the class of 1969 and furthered his education at Bowling Green State University as a history major, graduating in 1973. A few years later, he joined the U.S. Army. He served with the Ashland 1486 National Guard Transportation Company in Operation Desert Storm from 1990-1991.

On June 2, 1987, Bardley married Nancy Lloyd at the First Presbyterian Church in Ashland. They would have been married 37 years.

Bradley and Nancy have three sons, Douglas, born July 8, 1989, and twins, Adam and Benjamin, born March 6, 1992.

Bradly was a longtime employee of the Ohio Department of Transportation District 3 in Ashland. He retired in 2023 after 40 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his sons, Douglas, Adam, and Benjamin; a sister, Sharon Young of Louisiana; a brother, Michael (Annie) Young of Colorado; a sister-in-law, Carol (Jim) Keil; a niece Susie (Nic) Schwartz; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Nankin Community Church with Pastor Jared Smeltzer presiding. Interment will follow in the Ruggles Cemetery where the Ashland Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct full military honors. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nankin Community Church.
