Mildred Eileen Sayre, 102, went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2024. She passed away at Primrose Retirement Community where she resided for the past 12 years. Eileen, as she preferred to be called, was born June 28, 1921 in Springfield, Richland County, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Levi and Lucille (Moon) Henry. She graduated from Springfield Township High School in 1939. Following graduation, she was employed at Sears where she met her husband, Max. They were married on August 23, 1942. She was employed at National Masonic Provident Association, and went to work at United Telephone Company as Executive Secretary to the President.

In 1971 she and her husband moved to Arizona where they spent 35 years before returning to Mansfield in 2005. Eileen was a beautiful, classy, smart lady who was kind to everyone. She loved music, dancing and was an avid basketball fan. She was also intrigued by politics and history. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her brother, John Henry; sister, Phyllis Beery; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Max in 2014; sisters, Mary Murphy, Margaret Hause and Carol Maduri; brother, Robert Henry; 3 brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law; 3 nephews; 2 nieces; and a great-nephew.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Primrose for their outstanding care and kindness, along with Southern Care Hospice.
