Donald Andrew Fairchild Sr. of Mansfield passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024, at his home. He was 77 years old.
He was born October 12, 1946, in Waverly, Ohio, to the late Edward and Beatrice (Viar) Fairchild. Don was a veteran of the US Navy. He had a strong work ethic and retired from General Motors where he was a truck repairman. Don was an avid reader and was a fan of science fiction in particular. He was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed a round of golf whenever he could get away. Family was his most important priority. Don was always willing to help in any way possible. He loved his dogs— LJ, Teddy, Jack and Annabell—like family.
Don is survived by two children, Kelli (Jon) Hanlon and Donald Fairchild Jr.; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Andrew, Jeremy, Jacob, Kayla, Dalton, Kaitlyn and Kassandra; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Eldridge; and brother, Bill Fairchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Margaret Mellott, Evelyn Hamilton and Roger Fairchild.
