Six people hold certificates
The Buckeye Imagination Museum was recently honored at a statewide conference in Sandusky.
MANSFIELD — The 2023 Ohio Museums Association Outstanding Achievement Awards were recognized at the 2024 Ohio Museums Association’s annual conference in Sandusky.

Buckeye Imagination Museum was named Institution of the Year. This award recognizes outstanding institutional accomplishments in the field of Ohio museums. Buckeye Imagination Museum was nominated for its outstanding accomplishments in museum design and community collaboration.

Fred Boll, Buckeye Imagination Museum Executive Director, noted the cooperation and communication with other OMA members as a guide in development and growth of Buckeye Imagination Museum. 

“I look at the accomplishments that these institutions are doing and learn from them,” Boll said.

Buckeye Imagination Museum was also named Best Community Collaboration/Partnership for Optimist Park. 
This award recognizes innovative partnerships within communities or among other museums. 

The Mansfield Noon Optimist’s raised funds to build the neighborhood park to celebrate their 100th anniversary.

April Monroy, Buckeye Imagination Museum Front Desk Manager, stated, “The Optimist Park has been a wonderful addition to the museum. Many families use both before and after coming to play in the museum. We really enjoy seeing neighborhood kids come to play too!”
