Rosalie Joy Valentine, 93, passed away at her home on Monday, April 15, 2024.
The youngest of eight children, Rosalie was born on March 26, 1931 in Plymouth, Ohio. She was the daughter of Roko and Mary (Spina) Turson. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1949. On July 9, 1980, she married Jim Valentine in Reno, Nevada. She loved the beach, watching the hummingbirds, shopping and going out to eat. She was always on the search for hummel figurines for her collection.
Those left to cherish many fond and loving memories are her husband, James “Jim” Valentine; her children, Rese King of Texas and Douglas Valentine of California; her grandchildren, Jodi Stapleton of South Carolina, Jesse Lynn of Mansfield, Scott, Marc and Sadie Valentine all of California, Ohio; her great-grandchildren, Cody and Joseph Piert both of Texas; her great-great-grandchild, Delilah Miller; her sister-in-law, Marlene Turson; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Lynn; her granddaughter, Jamie Stapleton; her son-in-law, Lloyd King; and her siblings, Kate (Floyd) Fisher, Barbara Thurston, Mary (John) Mackey, Sylvia (Gerald) Higgins, Ann (Dean) Hoover, Margaret (Fred) Dalton, and John Turson.
Guests will be received from 4:00-6:00 pm on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Avita Home Health and Hospice, 1220 N. Market St., Galion, OH 44833.
