In loving memory of Duane Tedrow, a courageous military police officer who served his country with honor during the Vietnam War, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024. He was 76 years old.
Born June 16,1947 in Lodi, Ohio to Mary Blair and Clifford Tedrow, Duane was the devoted father of Corey Tedrow (Rhonda), Stacy Hunsinger (Brandon) and grandfather to Jordan Tedrow, Kale Tedrow, and Arenal Hunsinger.
Beyond his military service, Duane had a big personality and an even bigger presence in the community. He never met a stranger and voiced his opinion about anything and everything. There was never a dull moment with Duane in the room.
He was a pillar of strength, facing life’s challenges with courage and determination. Anyone who knew him knew he would give you the shirt off his back, if needed. He instilled in his children the values of integrity, perseverance, and grit, leaving an indelible mark on their lives and hearts.
In his leisure time, Duane enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, drinking with friends, playing cards with buddies, looking for deals at auctions, and remodeling his home. As a Master Mason, he had an unwavering love for his country that touched the lives of all who knew him, leaving behind memories that will be forever treasured and remembered by those around him.
A celebration of the life and legacy of Duane Tedrow will be held at the VFW Post 3494 located at 853 Ashland Road in Mansfield, Ohio on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the same VFW post in remembrance of his selfless spirit and dedication to serving others.
Though he may be gone from our sight, Duane’s legacy of courage, wit, and sacrifice will live on through the lives he touched and the memories he created. Rest in peace, dear father, hero, and friend. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
