Frederick E. Seger, age 80, of Mansfield, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 11, 2024, at Crystal Care Center of Mansfield.

He was born May 28, 1943, in Niagara Falls, New York, to the late Elmer and Avis (Winters) Seger. Frederick was an instrumentation technician at Ashland Oil. He began his career in New York and later transferred to Ashland, Kentucky where he retired. Frederick was a team partner tasked with establishing a refinery in Oman in the 1980s.

He attended Berean Baptist Church and loved classic hymns. He enjoyed woodworking and caring for the many birds that frequented his yard. Frederick had a large collection of flashlights and hats that he proudly displayed.

Frederick is survived by his wife, Pamela (Penn) Seger; two children, Victoria Seger and Fred (Angela) Seger; four grandchildren, Richard (Charlene) Aldrich, Kristini (Sergio) Aldrich, Aiden Seger and Grayson Seger; a brother, Ron (Janice) Henry; and many cherished family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Beverly Aldrich; and three siblings, Alan Seger, Carol Metzger and Linda Hazelet.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Berean Baptist Church, 2145 Middle Bellville Road, Mansfield. A celebration of Frederick’s life will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Phil Leineweber officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Missions Fund of Berean Baptist or the Salvation Army. Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the family.
