Joan E. Teresa (Nee: Wheeler) Davidson Obituary
Joan E. Teresa (nee: Wheeler) Davidson, age 77, of Orrville, died Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Orrville Nursing and Rehabilitation, following a long period of declining health.

Joan was born on July 3, 1946, in Mansfield, to the late Col. John William and Mildred Kathryn (Jacobs) Wheeler. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School (Mansfield) in 1964, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, and Providence School of Nursing (Sandusky) in 1967. Joan married Donald E. Davidson on April 9, 1994, at their home in Orrville.

She was a Registered Nurse, working as the Clinic Nurse and eventually as Director of Nursing for Apple Creek Developmental Center for over 30 years, retiring in 2006.

Joan enjoyed riding her bike, playing backyard baseball and swimming at Walnut Hills, where she was on the swim team in her youth. She was an avid reader, a Jimmy Buffett fan, and enjoyed travel to New Orleans and the beach at Topsail Island, NC. She will be remembered as an excellent cook and for her weird food experiments. She also enjoyed gardening and had quite a green thumb.

Surviving are her husband, Don; two daughters, Tara (Travis) Dean of Lexington and Samantha (Joe) Wynn of Delaware; five grandchildren, Kathryn, Mary and John Dean, and Joey and Emmalin Wynn; four siblings, Mike Wheeler of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Shelly Wheeler of Columbus, Patrick (Shelley) Wheeler of Willowick and Richard (Margarita) Wheeler of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a niece, Holly Wheeler.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Auble Funeral Home, 512 East Oak Street, Orrville.
