Lillie Mae Davis, 76, passed away at Embassy of Woodview on Thursday, April 4, 2024.

Lillie was born on August 22, 1947 in Meridian, Mississippi to Ben and Ada Mae (Bozman) Cameron.  She moved to Mansfield in her youth, and later met her husband Sam.  The two married and together made a beautiful family.  Lillie’s passion in life was her children, as she was a dedicated mother who worked hard to provide for her family.  She will be remembered for her cooking, especially her exquisite sweet potato pie.  She loved to cook so much, she briefly owned a restaurant.  She was employed as a cook at Mansfield Family Restaurant, and after her husband’s passing she worked in real estate.  She attended New Jerusalem Progressive C.O.G.I.C.

She is survived by her children Dianne Cameron, Addie (Donald Moore) Lee-Moore, and Samuel (Davidette) Davis; her grandchildren, Jakkar Bishop, Jasmin Barnes, Deandre Brown, Cheyanne Davis, Alexsia Davis, Daniel Davis, Isabella Davis, Whitney (Quinness) Howell, Trinity Tucker, and Taylor Tucker; great-grandchild, Kyeona Myers; her siblings, Ella Fenderson, Anne Brazil, Ruby Davis, Bennie Lee “Dean” Cameron, Daisy Cameron, and Betty (Donald) Barnes; her sisters-in-law, Carol (Anthony) Scott, Judy Scott, Sondra Davis, and Veronica Farris; and other cherished family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Samuel Davis Jr.; her son, James Maurice Davis; her siblings, Ben “Baby Brother” Cameron Jr., James “Uncle Pepper” Cameron, Bessie Lee Cameron, Zettie Cameron, Eddie Cameron, Mary Cameron, Willie B. Cameron and Johnnie Mae Wallace; and her brothers-in-law, Willie Davis, Ralph Ortiz and Charles Wallace.

A gathering will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 11am-12pm with a memorial service to follow at 12pm.  Lillie will be laid to rest at Mansfield Cemetery.  Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the Davis family.
