William “Bill” H. Marzetti, 85, of Mansfield passed away April 3, 2024 at OhioHealth Hospital surrounded by his family.
Bill was born September 23, 1938 in Mansfield to William J. and Mary Prinz Marzetti. After graduating from St. Peter’s High School in 1957, Bill joined the United States Navy where he served for 4 years. He worked in a variety of manufacturing businesses such as Gorman Rupp, Mansfield Plating in the IBM department, Rabel’s Screw Machine and then went on to open his own business, Marzetti’s Deli in the late 1980’s.
Bill was a member of many civic organizations such as Owls #1152, Eagles #336, Sons of Herman, VFW, Moose and Amvets and was a past Grand Knight and 4th Degree member for the Knights of Columbus #687. He also was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Bill loved the Ohio State Buckeyes, Jimmy Buffett concerts, fishing on Lake Erie and all of the time spent with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Wanda Keller Marzetti; children Michael (Angel) Marzetti, Lois Dodd, Lana (Jim) Vourtsis, Laurie (George) Nickolaou, Philip J. Marzetti; grandchildren Alex (K.J.) Grier, Nick Marzetti (Minna), Lyle (Tara) Dodd, Jeremy Dodd, Reaunna Dodd, Nick Vourtsis, Anthony Nickolaou, Mikey Marzetti, Matt Marzetti, Morgan Marzetti; great-grandchildren Kenley Grier, Aria Grier, Kainen Dodd, Rianne Davis, Arriah Davis, Drake Dodd, Zayne Dodd, Quintin Dodd, Mya Dodd, Michael Dodd, Cameron Dodd, Gavin Dodd, McKenzie Dodd; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother Joe (Marsha) Marzetti; brothers-in-law Adam (Laura) Keller, Ron (Suzi) Smith; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Margie Yahraus and son-in-law Lyle Dodd.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-8pm at Herlihy Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Wednesday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or charity of donor’s choice.
