JoAnne Wolfe of Shelby passed away early Wednesday morning, March 27, 2024, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital at the age of 85.

Born September 23, 1938, in Manchester, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Mary Francis (Henderson) and William Julius Baker. JoAnne grew up in Mansfield along with her six siblings. She was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, Class of 1957. In her youth, she relished every opportunity to go roller-skating.

JoAnne married Paul Fox and they had four sons. She then married William “Bill” Wolfe. She loved going to church, thrift shopping, baking, sewing and riding around in her car. She worked as a waitress and at National Seating. She was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. JoAnne will be remembered as a very caring and giving, energetic woman who was everyone’s “mom”.

She is survived by four sons, Steven Fox (Cindy Oliver), Chris Fox, Darren Fox, and Shannon (Aggie) Fox; six grandchildren, Celeste (Qawwi) Habeeb-Ullah, Melissa (Tyler) Riggenbach, Rhiannon (Jake) Skaggs, Kristy, Connor Fox, and Ronnie Oliver; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patty (Charles) Hall, Billie Sue Brewer and Wilma (Dave) Eichler; and many nieces and nephews.

JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Chester Wolfe; ex-husband, Paul Fox; brother, Kenneth Baker; two sisters, Roma Wimberly and Sherry Berry; and a brother-in-law, Roy Brewer.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service conducted by Pastor Anita Collins will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children or the Wounded Warrior Project.
