MANSFIELD: Blended and Blessed! Jack Bosko’s blended family was woven together by choice, strengthened by love, tested with plenty of teasing and humor – and it was uniquely his! He loved each member of the patchwork family as his own – not overly demonstrative – but his “picking on you” was a sign of his attention and affection.

Jack Bosko passed into the Lord’s care Saturday morning March 23, 2024. He was 81.

Born Jack Richard Bosko November 22, 1942 in Mansfield to parents Mike and Katherine (Kanz) Bosko, Jack was graduated from Madison High School in 1960.

Jack worked almost ten years at each of Mansfield Tire & Rubber Company, Westinghouse, and Central Radiator – until each of those companies shuttered their operations. The joke became “Jack don’t come work here…or the place will close!” He retired from WalMart.

He was a member of Berean Baptist Church, the Pointe Yacht Club, Mansfield Moose, and enjoyed gathering with “Mad Grad” every second Tuesday.

His sense of humor was more like a sense of kidding and ribbing. Nicknamed “Grandpa Ough Ough Ough” referred to his hard tickle-massage whenever a grandchild was near. As much as Jack liked to dish-it-out, he could take-it-right-back…he was delighted when people would spar with him with jokes…but few could one-up him in his game of teasing.

Above all, Jack leaves a legacy of kindness and caring.

He is survived by his wife Linda (Lacey) Bosko, whom he married July 17, 1981; daughters Jackie (Dan Sharp) Doran of Newark, Mindi (Burl) Childress of Groveport, Tracie (Titus) Smith of Mansfield, Tami Gardner of Wooster, and Tonya Stephenson of Mansfield; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; a brother Larry Bosko of Powell, a bonus son Mark (Kasey) Plank; nieces and nephews; and a host of church friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Lori Moore; a brother Roger Bosko; and a grandson Gene Harris.

His family will host a memorial service on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 12 Noon in Berean Baptist Church, 2145 Middle Bellville Road, Mansfield.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jack’s memory may be made to Berean Baptist Church, 2145 Middle Bellville Road, Mansfield, OH 44904.
