She was born on March 18, 1937 to parents James F. and Helen D. (Browning) O’Hearn in Mansfield, Ohio. Mary Ellen graduated from St. Peter’s High School in 1955 and spent her whole life in the Mansfield area.

Mary Ellen was a hard worker throughout her life starting with her time at Ohio Bell as an operator for 15 years as well as her time with United Telephone, Lumbermans, and Dr. Robert Brenner’s office where she worked for 20 years until her retirement. Mary Ellen was a long-time member of St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church, where she spent countless hours serving the Lord and her community. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, utilized her secretarial skills with bookkeeping, and was always there to help feed the needy.

Along with her time spent at church, Mary Ellen enjoyed reading a good book and tending to her plants. Above all else though, she loved spending time with her family and enjoying the company of her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
