Sandra Jean Stricker, age 84, of Ontario, passed away early Saturday morning, March 23, 2024, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.
Sandra was born November 30, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Elizabeth (Aungst) and Jacob Kanz Jr. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bellville for many years and was a previous member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ontario. She worked as a secretary at the Social Security Office for many years.
She loved having family over to swim in her pool. Reading, playing cards and completing crossword and jigsaw puzzles were favorite activities. Sandra volunteered her time at Kingwood Center tending to the many beautiful gardens found there.
Sandra is survived by a son, Doug Stricker; a daughter-in-law, Karla Stricker; three granddaughters, Heather (Kevin) Ready, Holly (Zack) Rasnake and Hailey (Timothy) O’Brien; ten great-grandchildren, Addison, Mason, Timothy, Hanna, Elliyana, Charles, Ryker, Renly, Isabel and Theodore; two brothers, Gayle (Susan) Kanz Sr. and Gary (Diane) Kanz; an aunt, Louise Rhoads; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Stricker Sr. and a sister, Sherry Hoffman.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
